Halo multiplayer ranking system update#
Not only can you expect to see your rank lowered, you can also expect to see a slightly different rank structure once the update rolls out, with Diamond 1 being raised to Diamond 5. Your Competitive Skill Ranking (CSR) will be lower after the multiplayer update for Halo Infinite goes live on February 22. To balance things out, the team aims to adjust player ranks so they’re “closer in line to where they should be.” As mentioned above, this means Diamond players will become Platinum players, Platinum players will become Gold players, and so on after the update goes live on February 22. With that time spent studying, they’ve noticed a few “common issues in ranked such as ranked inflation, inaccurate skill assessment, uneven player skills, and more.” Specifically, the team feels the Competitive Skill Ranking (CSR) system has been “overly generous since launch." First, it’s noted that the team at 343 Industries has been studying player ranks and ranked matchmaking in Halo Infinite since the game’s launch. In the Halo Waypoint post, several reasons are cited in regards to why these changes are being made. For example, Diamond ranked players can expect to find themselves in the Platinum tier after the update goes live. On February 22, a multiplayer update is set to roll out in Halo Infinite that’ll result in everyone’s Competitive Skill Ranking (CSR) being knocked down to a lower tier.
